A Festive Wreath Making Session
December 28, 2014
It wouldn't be Christmas without a wreath hanging prominently on the front door.!
This year I invited creative students to the Hannah Berry Flowers workshop in Farnham, Surrey to experiment with seasonal foliage by designing and creating their very own Christmas wreath.
There was a selection of traditional dried materials on offer such as cut limes, scented cinnamon sticks and pine cones, as well as fresh apples, brussel sprouts and a selection of fresh flowers.
I am extremely keen on foraging, so I encouraged students to bring along a few foraged finds of there own to include in their designs. I used tree Ivy, Nigella pods (left over from this years cutting garden) and also a handful or pheasant feathers which I foraged from the local farmer!
Of course, a wreath making session wouldn't go without Christmas music, mince pies and lashings of mulled wine!
